My topic for this weeks current event is about “Income Growth in East Texas”.

I found my article from “Longview News Journal”.

The article that I chose is about the personal income in 23 Texas counties that grew from $28.8 billion to $43.4 billion dollars since 2013. Per-person income has grown a greater rate that statewide, which is not that exceeding.

I feel that this affects me because I know some people that are not that fortunate. As well as some people are not as wealthy as some other people, so if they keep making the income higher and higher that could really put some people in a bind.

This also effects the world greatly because there are a lot of people that live in Texas. Some people are also not as wealthy as others so therefore it affects the world in that way as well.

 

 

Carcinogen is a substance capable of causing cancer in living tisue. Some car inogens do not affect DNA directly, but lead to cancer in other ways. For example, they may cause cells to divide at a faster than normal rate, which could increase the chances that DNA changes will occur. Carcinogens do not cause cancer in every case, all the time. Carcinogens are not necessarily immediately toxic, thus their effect can be insidious. Cancer is any disease in which normal cells are damaged and do not undergo programmed cell death as fast as they divide via mitosis. Carcinogens may increase the risk of cancer by altering cellular metabolism or damaging DNA directly in cells, which interferes with biological processes. Also, carcinogens can be caused by the use of tobacco.

#1 Policy granted open campus lunches that will start October 2. They are also giving students an extra 10 minutes for lunch because of “phenomenal” test scores from the students of Rock Hill High School.

#2 With a growing community, Wal-mart feels that they can handle another Super Wal-mart in Rock Hill. They are creating a petition on October 14 because some members of the community feel as if it’s a bad idea.

#3 There is a student named Napoleon Dynamite that has been testes to be a genius, he is supposed to be a 6th grader this year, but Napoleon and Mr. Fred George, the principle, wants to make to start high school right away because he doesn’t want to “waste time in middle school.”

#4 The survey that Child Abuse Prevention Center in Baltimore took shows that three of four children die everyday from neglect or child abuse. Seventy-nine percent of deaths were children under 5, and more than half of the children were under the age of 1.

#5 The homeowner, Kathy Mahoney, woke up to smoke and flames at 3:30 AM, she had minor burns on her hands and feet, firefighters found her house on fire. The house suffered $76,000 in fire damage from a lighted cigarette on a sofa, the good news is that they got the blazing house in control in about 5 minutes.

Flight 93 visitor center opens in time for 9/11

My topic for this weeks current event is about 9/11 because I feel as if it is a very important occasion. I found this article at Longview News Journal website.

Basically my article is about the opening of a visitor center for 9/11.   The family members of the victims got a private tour before the center opened. Which I feel as if that was needed because I am certain that it was every touching. Also I bet with it being a private tour, family members felt better because it made them feel like no one will ever forget what happen that day.

I also feel as if this article is very important so that people hear about this and maybe next year, if it stays open, more people will come. This event effects me, even though I didn’t remember it when I was 4 months old, but it effects me now because i will remember it for the rest of my life.  Also even though I don’t know these people personally I feel for these family members of the victims, because they will certainly remember this for the rest of their lives. Hopefully there will never be anything like this day ever again, because I have heard about this day from my friends and family.

This impacts the world because this day will live on forever, and I hope so does this visitor center because I feel as if this could be used as a educational purpose as well. Also I feel that if the world will keep doing things like building these kind of things then we can help this victims family members feel better about this day.
